Seminars and Workshops

Instruction is available through half-day, full day, weekend or week long seminars and workshops. We can also arrange for private individual and/or small group instruction and can actually provide this instruction on your site.

We don't just teach you how to succeed at ranching; we teach you how to excel.

Our guarantee: What you learn the first day of class will more than pay for what the class cost you.

During our week-long workshop, you will come to understand the concepts and principles that will enable you to arrive at a strategic goal, design a good grazing cell, understand a grazing chart, plan and budget cash flow, develop a record keeping system and improve the land that supports you and your family.

All you need is a weeks worth of fun education and a desire to keep learning.

We can offer anything from one hour guest speaker engagements to training sessions of any length at any location and on any topic having to do with the management of ranch lands.

Core Program of Instruction

Our core curriculum consists of nine (9) courses. The courses and their approximate contact times are listed in the table below: Click on each individual course to see a complete, detailed course description.

The preferable way to complete the program is to enroll in one of our week long (40 hour M-F) seminar/workshops. Whether live or by distance learning, anyone who successfully completes all nine lessons and scores 75 or above on an examination given at the end of each lesson will:

  • Receive the Certified Rangeland Restoration Specialist™ certification
  • Earn a place in or our organization as an “Associate Consultant”
  • Receive referrals for paid consulting work that come from their geographic area
  • Be included, as needed and appropriate, as a paid presenter in our live seminars and workshops.

Upon request, any of these courses can be offered separately or in any combination that would cover anything from a 30 minute talk half-day, full day, 2 day or 3 day workshops.

Elective Courses

We also, from time to time, present certain topics that are of interest to our clientele: Two of our most requested seminars are:

  • Cost accounting for the Livestock Industry
  • Market risk management for the cattlemen: Fundamental and Advanced hedging techniques using cattle futures and options contracts.
  • Estate Planning
  • How to write a formal business plan
  • If it pertains to the ranching industry, we can do it

We teach “common sense” and common sense tells us that it is cheaper for one person to travel than it is for ten. Therefore, we have a two tier tuition structure that reflects the Cowboy Economics of that. Simply stated, if you organize, sponsor, schedule and promote the event in your geographic area, our fees (as reflected in the schedule below) are substantially less than they would be if you attend one of our scheduled events.
